Preparing to write the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE).

B.C. graduates are required to write and pass the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination (CRNE). This exam measures the competencies required of entry-level registered nurses for safe and effective practice. The exam is made up of multiple choice questions.

Approximately four weeks prior to the exam date, you will receive detailed exam confirmation by e-mail, including the exact address of your writing centre.

Exam Candidate Agreement

All exam candidates must read and agree to the CRNE Candidate Declaration. Learn moreĀ»

Note: You must bring legal photo identification (e.g., B.C. Driver's license or passport) in order to be allowed into the writing centre.

An examination identification card will be handed to you when you register at the writing centre on exam day. This card contains the identification stickers for your exam.

The Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) sends exam results to CRNBC. You will receive your exam results about six to eight weeks after the exam.
