Missed the renewal deadline? What to do next

posted March 1, 2016

Registration renewal for 2016 has ended. If you missed the Feb. 29, 2016 deadline, your registration is expired. If you want practising or non-practising registration, you will need to apply to change your registration status (please note: our system will temporarily unavailable until 5 a.m. on Tues., March 1).

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Sign in and apply to change your status.
2. Pay your registration fee
3. Pay a change status fee of $105 (incl. tax)

Practising without registration isn't worth the risk

CRNBC takes working without registration seriously, and so should you. If you practise without registration on or after March 1, 2016, even accidentally, you're taking a risk that can impact you professionally and financially:

  • You aren't covered by professional liability protection. If you practise without protection, you are opening yourself up to personal financial risk if there is a lawsuit stemming from your nursing practise during that period.
  • Additional fees. If you work without registration, you'll have to reinstate, pay your registration fee, the $105 (incl. tax) change status fee and $315 (incl. tax) practising without registration fee before you can practise again.
