CRNBC on Nov. 28, 2016 cancelled the registration of
Leila Reshid of Vancouver (#0905983). Ms. Reshid is no longer entitled to work as a nurse.
CRNBC received a complaint about Ms. Reshid in January 2015 alleging multiple concerns with regard to narcotics diversion. CRNBC immediately launched an investigation, conducting an audit of her practice as a registered nurse at Vancouver General Hospital from November 2013 to December 2014. Investigators discovered that Ms. Reshid had diverted increasing amounts of hydromorphone during this period and could provide no reasonable explanation for her behaviour. CRNBC concluded that her behaviour posed an unacceptable risk to public safety and the reputation of the nursing profession.
At the conclusion of CRNBC's investigation, Ms. Reshid agreed to cancellation of her registration. She is no longer entitled to work as a nurse. She may apply for reinstatement of registration no earlier than five years from now, at which point she has the burden of satisfying the Registration Committee that she has the character, competence and fitness to be a registered nurse. Ms. Reshid's cancelled status is reflected in
CRNBC's nurse verification tool, which is publicly accessible.
