As part of a series of three program assessments, CRNBC recently completed a
review of our Policy Program work related to the development of the
Standards of Practice and the College’s approaches for regulating scope of practice.
The final report complements the
Professional Standards Authority assessment of CRNBC completed in early 2016. The report highlights a number of strengths of CRNBC’s work including the proactive involvement of stakeholders throughout our policy development work. The report also points to areas that require further assessment and evaluation to ensure that the methods align with the role of the regulator, our relational regulation approach and mandate.
As part of our next steps, CRNBC will be working closely with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses over the coming months to assess where we could strengthen our work in the short-term as we move to
becoming one nurse regulator.
