Fake/phishing email purporting to be from CRNBC

posted June 29, 2017

This email is not from CRNBC

CRNBC has become aware that someone posing as CRNBC staff is sending out a bogus survey to nurses. The email is being sent from the address “surveyfromcrnbc@gmail.com”. It asks recipients to open an attached Word document to view and respond to survey questions.

This email is not from CRNBC. We would never use Gmail to conduct a survey, as we are prohibited by law from using systems outside of Canada to collect personal information. Furthermore, we would never put survey questions in an email attachment: getting recipients to open a document that contains a computer virus is a method commonly used by hackers to break into computer systems and infect them with ransomware.

If you receive one of these emails, please delete it immediately.

You can contact us at info@crnbc.ca if you have concerns.
